Halos sweep-walk through Bay
Ramon Ortiz pitched his best game of the season, allowing just two runs through five innings, and in doing so recorded his first win. Tim Salmon hit his second home run of the season, a three-run shot, to overcome a 2-1 deficit in the sixth inning. The Angels completed their first three-game sweep of Oakland since 1996.

For Ken Macha, this was a weekend to forget as the Angels took all three games against the Athletics. Rich Harden pitched 5 2/3 strong innings and was a hanging breaking ball away from a different result, perhaps. Instead, the Angels made the most of their chances and denied Harden of his first win of the season.
